MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski boycotting SoulCycle amid news owner will host Trump fundraiser

Among the companies Ross owns, in addition to The Related Companies, are the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, and RSE Ventures, a sports, entertainment, media, and marketing firm.

As Fox & Friends talked about all of this, they snarked at how celebrities like Billy Eichner and Christy Tiegen are panning the fitness companies and saying Ross is "enabling racism and mass murder".

"Why is Stephan Ross hosting a fund raiser for trump???"

Actor Wilson Cruz started a Change.org petition calling on Equinox to demand Ross cancel the fundraiser.

And Miami Dolphins player Kenny Stills also called out Ross.

One of the planned events, set to be held at the Southampton home of billionaire real estate developer Stephen Ross and his jewelry designer wife, Kara, attracted controversy after The Washington Post reported on the event earlier this week. But in a statement, Ross said he has known Trump for 40 years and that he has "never been bashful about expressing" opinions with him.

On Thursday, a list of lifestyle, fitness and restaurant brands affiliated with the Related Companies, of which Ross is chairman and founder, was no longer available on the company's website. We believed it was a safe space for people like us. People are canceling memberships, others are sitting in confusion wondering if canceling memberships on principle is worth having to go work out at (shudder) 24 Hour Fitness.

Lastly, on Wednesday SoulCycle and Equinox both issued similar statements claiming Ross is merely a "passive investor".

A reception is scheduled to follow the lunch at the 17,000-square-foot Bridgehampton estate of Joe Farrell, a real estate developer in NY. Tickets for that event are priced at $5,600 to $35,000 per couple.

"Everyone who cancels their Equinox and SoulCycle memberships, meet me at the library. bring weights", tweeted model Chrissy Teigen, who is a vocal critic of the U.S. president. Proceeds will be going towards Trump Victory, a committee raising money for the 2020 election and Republican National Committee.

Ross released a statement of his own late on Wednesday: "While some prefer to sit outside of the process and criticize, I prefer to engage directly and support the things I deeply care about".
